Operation Husky

Operation Husky
   Operation Husky was the code name given to the invasion of Sicily by more than 160,000 Allied troops on 9 and 10 July 1943 during World War II. It ultimately led to the fall of Sicily in August 1943 and the invasion of Italy. At the time, it was the largest amphibious landing in history, and it provided invaluable lessons for the Normandy landings on D-Day in 1944.
